Sort option in activities table available for all columns (not just date)

I would like the ability to sort the activities in the table view by the column of my choosing. Currently I can only sort them by date. It would also be good if the sort order could be “remembered” for the next sort (e.g. I could sort by Colum A, then by Column B, then by column C) which would enable me to do a muti-faceted sort.
